Saturday's victory over the University of Texas was a very important victory for our football team. Having fought back from a lot of adversity this year, losing some key games in the fourth quarter, our players and our coaching staff held together and came to this final game and ended the year on a very high note.

That high note was at the expense of what I consider to be a very fine football team, the University of Texas. I've said all year that Coach Akers and his staff have done one of the best jobs in the United States. They lost so many players last year. They've had a lot of injuries, but yet they were leading our conference. We were fortunate to win the game in many ways, but also we were pleased because of the effort and the preparation of our team.
